Osorno is located in a strategic place between the beautiful and unknown Palencia Mountain and the plain of Tierra de Campos, half an hour from Palencia and Burgos and one hour from Santander, León and Valladolid.
This is where the Canal de Castilla runs, a unique work of hydraulic engineering of the 18th century, with the unique aqueduct of Abánades.
Here is the Neolithic Dolmen of the Velilla and the site of Dessobriga, a former empty town and later Roman. Inside the town you can see the Palacio de los Hierro of the 17th century, the Mudejar hermitage of La Piedad and the church of the Assumption that contains elements of great interest such as the Romanesque baptismal font, the imposing Renaissance fence, carvings of the school of Felipe Bigarny and Nazarene by Gregorio Hernández.
You can visit natural environments: Recreational area of the Fuente de los Caños and meadow of the hermitage of Ronte. The native and restocking mountains with abundant mycological richness. The banks of its rivers and the Canal de Castilla.
You can visit monuments: The beautiful Roman Villa of La Olmeda (40km), the churches of the Camino de Santiago (15km), the Romanesque Monastery of San Andrés de Arroyo (40km), the incredible Romanesque heritage of northern Palencia.
