This peaceful 5-bedroom villa in Courniou is ideal for families and can host up to 12 people. The villa offers a heated swimming pool to unwind after an active day. It has a very large stoned terrace (100m) in front of the house as well as a large tiled pool deck equipped with lounge chairs and parasols. There is a covered outdoor dining area that can seat 12 comfortably and is particularly enjoyable during the warm summer months. There is an illuminated garden as well as 10 hectares of private property where nature lovers can explore the surrounding areas. There is a long iron trail that can be walked or biked all the way to Mazamet (30 kms away) at the entrance of the property’s road.
From Courniou there are several activities and day trips worth your while. The nearest supermarkets and restaurants are located in Labastide Rouaroux (5 minute drive). Close by, you can head to Saint-Pons-de-Thomières for their farmer’s markets (10 minute drive). Within a 30 minute drive, you can go to Mazamet where there is a large suspension bridge you can hike to, cross over and enter a medieval town with a panoramic view of Mazamet. There is also a tennis club in Mazamet with several indoor and outdoor tennis courts as well as all large stores, ideal for grocery hulls. There are rock gorges (gorges d’Héric) within a 30 minute drive where you can swim and cliff jump. A beach rests at a distance of 65 km (Narbonne, Beziers). The fortified city of Carcassonne is 1.25 hours away. For wine lovers, Saint Chinian and Minerve are within a 40 minute radius of the house. A scenic town of Olargues is within 30 minutes.
The house offers a living room equipped with a functioning wood-burning fireplace where you can assemble and enjoy TV shows or listen to music. There is a dining room with a large wooden farmer’s table next to a second wood-burning fireplace. There are three bedrooms upstairs, (1 king bed), (2 single beds), (1 double bed, 1 king bed), and two bedrooms on the main floor (1 king bed), (1 king bed). The kitchen is fully equipped and has all the necessary amenities (stove, oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher). There is a secondary fridge and freezer in the downstairs area, as well as a washing machine and dryer so as to better host large groups. There is a pool house with a shower and a toilet. Free WiFi, gas barbecue, hibachi barbecue, pingpong table, bikes (3) and parking are available. The complete quiet and privacy of this villa offers the ultime relaxing holiday.
