Santa Maria of the Alameda:
With irregular lines and delicate constructions, these are the streets that form the urban center of the town. In its most important roads you can see the typical mountain architecture with stone walls and beautiful balconies. Every route has a common starting point, the Plaza de la Constitución, the nerve center of Santa María de la Alameda. There rises, dominating the space, the Town Hall, built in the 19th century.
In front of it stands the church of Nuestra Señora de la Alameda, a mixture of Gothic and Baroque styles, it was built in the 16th century. Special mention deserves the altarpiece of the main altar, the masonry apse with buttresses of granite masonry and the ribbed vault of the head, jewels of a building that had to be restored after the Civil War.
One of its most significant civil works is the old station built in 1863, of which the passenger building and the wharf are still preserved. A beautiful construction that served as a stop on the rail route between Madrid and Ávila, whose walls seem to speak about thousands of stories of travelers who stopped there over the years of fervent activity.
