Holiday cottage "Kalkeifel" (“Limestone Eifel”) is located in the German Eifel at a rural location. The house stands on a hill in a wooded area along with similar houses. The house has a nice terrace to enjoy the outside, and the woodburner provides a cozy atmosphere inside. From the house you can make beautiful walks, mountain bike tours and cycling tours. The location is also convenient for day trips to Cologne, Bonn, Aachen, Trier, Cochem and Koblenz.
Description of the holiday cottage Kalkeifel
From the partly covered terrace you come into the living room with wood burner, (satellite) TV, radio + DVD/CD player, corner couch, extra chair. There is wireless internet in the house. An open kitchen adjoins the living room. The open kitchen has a fridge with small freezer compartment, a 4 burner electric stove and oven / microwave. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. The master bedroom has two single beds that can form a double bed of 1.6mx2m. The small bedroom has a single bed 0.8×1.9m (optionally we can put there a similar single bed). The house can accommodate three adults or two adults with two children. The house can be heated with electric heating and, preferably, with the wood burner. There is wireless internet in the house.
The cottage is detached and has an on-site private car parking place.

Surroundings
Ahrdorf is a small village at the upper part of the river Ahr and lies almost on the border of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rheinland Pfalz. Ahrdorf has a pub, a campground, a restaurant and a children’s playground.
Ahrdorf is located in the municipality Blankenheim. The area is called the “Kalkeifel” (Limestone Eifel). The Kalkeifel is immediately adjacent to the Ahr Eifel, the Vulkan Eifel, Rur Eifel and the North Eifel. With a car ride of 30-40 km, you are suddenly in a totally different area, such as the wine-growing area at the lower parts of the river Ahr, or the volcanic lakes near Daun.
The area around Ahrdorf is characterized by vast plateaus with meadows and arable land, and extensive forests where quiet streams are running through.
By Ahrdorf is the “Ahr-Radweg”, a cycling route which follows the valley of the river Ahr to the Rhine. In Ahrdorf the “Kalkeifel Radweg” into direction Hillesheim starts. A mountain bike route of the “Rad-Arena” is a few kilometers away. Further, all slopes invite to be climbed with a race bike.
In the immediate vicinity there are many walking trails of the Eifelverein and there are a number of long-distance hiking trails of the Eifelverein that pass the village.
Many idyllic villages with a historic center are nearby, such as Blankenheim and Bad Münstereifel. Ahrdorf is just 15 km from the Nürburgring, which is a paradise for motor racing enthusiasts.
Just 9 km away is a lake with sunbathing (Freilinger See). In Kronenburg is also a beautiful lake with sunbathing. In Euskirchen a large tropical swimming pool has recently been opened (Badewelt Euskirchen). In Bad Münstereifel is also an indoor pool (Eifelbad) and in Mechernich is an indoor pool which also features a sauna complex (Eifel-Therme-Zikkurat).
