Summary: We couldn't hide our disappointment when, on the morning of our first stay, we realized that:
The hotel markets itself with pictures of a swimming pool/spa, which in reality is just a small jacuzzi and a small sauna. Both parts were only available during the day hours, and only by request. However, it was not possible to have the "Spa" and sauna open during our stay.
The pictured beach / beach promenade was located several kilometers away and where the beach mostly was private. Access to the beach was via one road only, all other roads were private and closed to non-resident holidaymakers
By the way, the shower in our room did not work without critical water level on the entire floor.
Kudos to the hotel's well-stocked breakfast buffet.
Charming city, and the most excursion destinations within a maximum of 1.5 hours' drive
The city museum (Stadt- Und Bädermuseum Bad Doberan Möckelhaus) is definitely also worth a visit. Likewise is the impressive church (Doberaner Münster - Ev.-Luth. Kirchengemeinde Bad Doberan)
The train / narrow-gauge track is a pleasant feature in the street scene. However, the trip to the beach was wasted due to access conditions / and hotels' private ownership of the beach
All in all a nice stay and I hope our comments don't scare away future holidaymakers. We can, after all, recommend the hotel and its central location.

Summary: Beautiful historic building in great condition. The hotel manager called us ahead of time to check on our ETA, and provided us with instructions for our check in after hours. The hotel has its own parking area within own premises. The room was very nice, clean and with a roomy bathroom. The breakfast was served in an expansive glass room, and there was a good selection of quality food.

Summary: The situation was good and the hotel pleasant.
Staff downright rude - we asked where the bar was for pre-dinner drinks only to find they'd locked it up within 10 minutes of asking. Presumably they didn't like the thought of seven men having a drink despite the fact that all in their sixties or seventies. We were then offered to be served drinks outside but no-one came in 15 minutes so we took our business elsewhere. We will not be returning to this establishment which is a pity as a pleasant hotel.

Summary: I didn't feel safe getting into & out of the combined bath/shower. The access was restricted by a 45 degree angled roof. I had a fear of slipping, especially getting out of the bath. Also the beautifully tiled floor is slippy if water touches it. This was my only problem.

Summary: This really is a gem of a hotel situated in Bad Doberan in north Germany. I only stayed for one night but wished I had booked for longer. The village itself is pleasant and quiet so is a perfect place to relax. I went to travel on Der Molli, a 3ft narrow guage steam railway that runs through the main street and both the railway and the hotel are highly recommended.

Summary: A beautiful hotel in what was once a school. Clean and neat with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent in an impressive well lit dining room. Summary: das von mir belgte einzelzimmer im ersten stock war geräumig mit einem großen nasszellenbereich. sehr freundliche + hilfsbereite dame an der rezeptrion. nach endgültiger fertigstellung sicherlich zu empfehlen.
