We have completely renovated our 300 year old holiday home in the last 4 years and adapted it to modern conditions. You practically only need to bring your personal belongings with you, everything else can be found in our house. Two cozy bedrooms, a cozy living room with direct access to a roof logia, a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances and a bathroom with toilet, washing area and a spacious walk-in shower ensure a guaranteed good time in the southern Harz. You can conveniently park your vehicle in a small courtyard next to the house. The entire building technology is new and corresponds to a good standard.
The five rooms of the house are located on two levels and an attic. The bathroom, the kitchen, a bedroom and the entrance area are on the ground floor. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary modern appliances. The kitchen also has underfloor heating. In the bathroom you will find a toilet, a washing area with a large mirror and a spacious walk-in shower. The bathroom also has underfloor heating. The bedroom has a double bed with bedside cabinets, a wardrobe and a small secretary and a chest of drawers. A flat-screen TV is also available. In the entrance area with a central open staircase you will find the landline connection which is available to you. The living room can be reached via a staircase from the entrance area and is located on the first floor. From there you can also get to the roof logia. In the living room you will find a comfortable seating area, a flat-screen TV with sound system and a radio with CD. There is also a small reading corner with a comfortable wing chair and a small side table. The roof logia invites you to a nice glass of wine which you can enjoy on the sun leagues. From here you also have a view of the medieval town and of Stolberg Castle. A staircase leads from the living room area to the open plan attic where the second bedroom is located. It includes a double bed with bedside tables, a wardrobe and a flat-screen TV. The entire house is supplied with WiFi which you can use.
Our house has two entrances which are electronically secured. On the one hand, you can enter it via a few steps above the entrance area or comfortably from the courtyard, directly via the kitchen. You can park your vehicle in the courtyard for the duration of your stay and, for example, unload your luggage with direct access via the kitchen entrance. A table with chairs and sun loungers are available on the Logia.
On our Logia you can end the eventful day with a nice glass of wine or a regional beer (Hasseröder or Wippraer). Due to the tightness of a medieval town, central parking spaces are in short supply. You park for free with direct access to your holiday home. For your safety, the house has a smoke and Co2 warning system and a fire extinguisher. A first aid kit is available for small everyday emergencies. It goes without saying that we provide you with high-speed WiFi in the house free of charge. All flat screen TVs are connected to a powerful cable system. You can also use the smart functions to access your streaming services such as Netflix, Disney or Amazon. You can find out about regional events via a special TV channel.
Within Stolberg you can reach many gastronomic options on foot in a few minutes. From our own experience, we can highly recommend a hearty dinner (Gasthaus "Kupfer") or a cozy cup of coffee (house roast) with delicious home-made cakes in the Caffe "Alt" (Stubengasse 1). In the warm time of the year, you can indulge yourself in the outdoor dining area with regional delicacies. Often game meat from the surrounding forests is offered or a typical grilled sausage which is offered from a small stall (approx. 2m² in size) on the market. In the butcher's shop Schneider, meat and sausage products from regional production are on offer, which you should definitely try at a local dinner. For a special evening, we recommend a visit to the "Schindelbruch" nature resort or the "Freiwerk" hotel restaurant (Thyrahöhe 24).
